Lady Gaga and Social Media

BLOG No Comments

Lady Gaga is no stranger to Social. Her music videos are created for YouTube before they are ever considered for television.

In a strange and uncharacteristic twist, Lady Gaga has joined Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt in a $1 million investment into a Social Media startup.

Just as Ashton Kutcher put his money into startup hipmunk.com, Gaga’s venture into startup backplane.com secures her as a 20% shareholder.

Backplane, which has been founded by Gaga’s business manager Troy Carter, aims to blend technology and entertainment, combining big brands’ various social presences into one platform.

Lady Gaga also has a partnership with online gaming mogul Zynga, search giant Google, shopping powerhouse Amazon and startup Gilt.
