Why the days of offline information is reaching its use-by date
The natural progression towards streamline is quickly taking shape in the digital age. We’ve seen how fast the internet has integrated into our lives and is now a necessary component to everyday life.
As with all communication, people naturally flock to easier, faster, cheaper, better – things that are not prevalent in offline media. As a matter of fact, with offline media, you’re quickly seeing how the strain and expenses of keeping bricks upright is affecting offline life.
The internet is a sole source of information, and with that information, people are looking to digest it in many ways. To gain value, we need to be able to ask questions, receive qualified responses, and guage how to learn. It is with that purpose in mind, that Social Media was born.
Some may argue that Social Media has ‘cheapened’ life, exposed our privacy and led to an increase in procrastination. I could not agree more. However, the resistance against Social Media is futile.
Just like Radios, Televisions and Mobile Phones were introduced primarily as a ‘waste of time’, we’ve learned to evolve around them to make them a crucial part of our lifestyle – and so has the internet.
Social Media is what the Internet has evolved in to, and the faster we accept that, the better.
What does this mean for traditional media? It’s time to grow up and accept the world as it is – before the world leaves you behind.
